About the Job

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to support our Clinical Research Program at the Frederick National Laboratory. As a Scientific Research Professional, you will be part of a dynamic team that addresses some of the most urgent challenges in biomedical sciences.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include:

  • ">
  • Performing routine cell isolation and nucleic acid extraction from patient samples in a CLIA environment;">
  • Conducting genomics research and assay development in collaboration with colleagues;">
  • Making detailed observations, analyzing data, and interpreting results;">
  • Investigating new methods and technologies to advance project goals;">
  • Maintaining high professional expertise through familiarity with scientific literature;">
  • Participating in scientific conferences and contributing to publications;">
  • Developing and applying molecular assays using sound scientific judgment;">
  • Writing SOPs and reporting research data, including presentations and publications;">
  • Maintaining knowledge of recent literature and scientific presentations relevant to projects;">
  • Maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment for optimal performance.">

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • ">
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience;">
  • A minimum of two years of experience with nucleic acid extraction and next-generation sequencing library creation and sequencing, or molecular biology techniques;">
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.">

  • Experience in cell isolation and nucleic acid extraction protocols;">
  • Experience in NGS genomic profiling assays;">
  • Experience in genomic assay development and workflow automation;">
  • Familiarity with clinical oncology studies and other protocol-driven clinical research;">
  • Experience working in clinical laboratory testing.">

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access);">
  • Strong technical skills in molecular biology and genomics;">
  • Ability to independently evaluate research or production assays or tests, develop SOPs, and analyze and report data;">
  • Ability to track information in large cohorts of samples and monitor progress of multiple projects;">
  • Adequate computer skills to document, organize, and present experimental data;">
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills;">
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.">

Salary and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $56,200 - $96,625 per year, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we provide opportunities for growth and development within our organization.
