Key Responsibilities:
Program Overview

The Residential Treatment programs at Youth Villages cater to children facing emotional and behavioral challenges.

Our residential facilities provide a structured yet liberating environment for an intensive treatment program, allowing children and their families to recognize, comprehend, and address their unique needs while developing essential skills for success in less restrictive environments.

We operate three distinct types of facilities—Intensive Residential Centers, Open Campuses, and Group Homes—across various locations, all employing the Re-Education of Emotionally Disturbed Children therapy model (Re-Ed).


Role Overview

The Youth Behavioral Support Specialist, also referred to as a Teacher Counselor Assistant, is responsible for:

- Instructing children in vital life skills and ensuring their daily physical care.
- Assisting in the development of individualized treatment plans for each child.
- Maintaining daily documentation, including contact notes, milieu notes, and precautionary notes.
- Facilitating client transportation to various locations.
- Engaging in recreational therapy activities with children.
- Enhancing children's behavioral outcomes through coping strategies and therapeutic interventions.
- Conducting both group and individual counseling sessions.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $54,000, contingent upon schedule and hours worked.

Time-and-a-half compensation for holidays worked.

Additional Information

Work schedule options include either Sunday and Wednesday through Friday or Monday through Wednesday and Saturday.

Weekday shifts (Monday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Friday): 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM.

Weekend shifts: 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM.

Flexibility is required, as the position involves shift work, including weekends and evenings.

Each facility has its own scheduling structure and rotations, which can be discussed with the hiring manager.

The role necessitates prolonged periods of walking and standing, as well as physical agility. Candidates may be required to run and navigate stairs, and must be capable of participating in physical interventions when necessary. Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds is expected, with occasional lifting of over 100 pounds. Completion of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR training is mandatory.

Applicants must successfully pass an agility and strength assessment and possess a valid driver's license.

Qualifications:
Requirements

- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Experience in youth work, corrections, or law enforcement is preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Flexibility in scheduling is essential.
