Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lumber Trader to join our team at JM Hunter Group. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for sourcing new sales opportunities, generating interest, and driving growth of existing accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Interaction
    • Engage with customers through daily outgoing and incoming calls/emails to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Sales and Business Development
    • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through prospecting calls and emails.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers to drive sales growth.
  • Product Knowledge and Market Intelligence
    • Stay up-to-date with market trends and product knowledge to provide valuable insights to customers.
    • Provide competitive market intelligence to prospects and customers.
  • Order Execution and Trade Management
    • Enter orders for various types of sales, including inventory, directs, back-to-back, forward, and block business.
    • Execute timely and accurate trades based on market data, movement, and prices.
  • Customer Support
    • Handle inbound calls and provide product and service information to customers.
    • Field customer support calls and follow up on matters such as deliveries, claims, returns, and other customer requests.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong understanding of the lumber and timber industry. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and sales growth.
