About the Role

We are seeking a high-energy individual to join our team as a Steward at Edith Macy Conference Center. This part-time position is approximately 7am-3pm, including weekends, and offers a competitive hourly rate of $18-$19 DOE.

Key Responsibilities

As a Steward, you will be responsible for washing dishes, pots and pans, flatware and glassware, using dishwashers or by hand. You will also maintain kitchen work areas, equipment and utensils in a clean and orderly condition. Additionally, you will sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas, and mop the kitchen floor. You will also be responsible for keeping the staff lounge tidy.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a clean, valid driver's license. Previous experience working in a culinary/hotel/kitchen/catering environment is preferred. You will also need to be able to handle food safely and follow proper sanitation procedures. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are also required. You will need to be able to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects (up to 40 lbs.).
