Speech Language Pathologist Job Opportunity

Big Horn Rehabilitation and Care Center is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join their in-house therapy team. As a rehabilitation center, we are dedicated to improving our patients' quality of life. Our team of expertly trained rehabilitation therapists, nurses, and physicians work together to craft a plan with each resident and follow through to help each resident achieve their goals in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders as ordered by physician.
  • Provide skilled, medically necessary speech and language therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to increase clients' independence and functioning.
  • Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders.
  • Train and educate clients, family, caregivers, and other professionals as a subject matter expert.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other professionals for diagnostic swallowing procedures as ordered by physician.
  • Demonstrate competent technical skills according to current Speech Therapy standards of practice.
  • Provide accurate and timely billing records and supporting clinical documentation.
  • Perform screening rounds as directed by Director of Rehabilitation to assess for client needs and environmental safety.
  • Provide recommendations to Director of Rehab and other team members on opportunities for business improvement, safety concerns, or other updates.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of current Speech Therapy practices and procedures, including laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
  • Current, active Speech Therapy License.
  • Current ASHA certification (preferred).
