Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to provide high-quality care to our patients. As a Speech Language Pathologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer diagnostic tests and provide individualized treatment to adults and children for a variety of communication disorders, voice and swallowing impairment, and neurological defects.
  • Advise physicians of test results and recommend and implement appropriate treatments.
  • Monitor the status of results and collaborate with physicians when altering treatment programs.
  • Ensure compliance with TJC, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Develop and present in-service programs in area of specialty.
  • Perform diagnostic clinical swallowing evaluations on a diversified patient population.
  • Interpret and report the results of evaluations/tests to referring physicians, therapists, and other medical staff.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of therapy programs addressing speech/language, voice, and swallowing problems for a diversified patient population.
  • Document patients' progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Adjust programs to improve effectiveness.
  • Meet client needs and determine further courses of treatment or intervention that may be necessary.
Requirements:
  • Masters Degree or Ph.D. in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program required.
  • Speech-Language Pathology Required Professional Experience License - Temporary (California) required at hire.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support required at hire.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and to utilize theories, principles, practices, techniques, and methods of Speech Therapy.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
