Position: COOK SUPERVISOR

Location: Lawton Correctional Facility

Compensation:

Base Salary: $17.00

Bonus (if applicable): $1,000.00

Overview:

The Cook Supervisor plays a vital role in the culinary team, working under the guidance of the Food Services Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing meal preparation, scheduling, and ensuring the quality of all food items and supplies. The supervisor will maintain accurate production records and foster leadership skills to effectively manage inmate training programs, ensure safety compliance, and oversee equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare production and service documentation for each meal, including service plans and dietary records.
2. Adjust recipes to meet the dietary needs of the facility population.
3. Complete pre-preparation and inventory sheets prior to meal service.
4. Conduct orientation and training for inmate workers.
5. Implement sanitation and safety protocols across all departmental areas.
6. Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills in collaboration with the Food Service Manager.
7. Assist in fostering positive client relations.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. While college credits or technical training are preferred, they are not mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate familiarity with the facility's recipes, policies, and procedures, and effectively communicate production and service requirements.

Experience in managing food production in commercial, military, or institutional settings is beneficial. Previous training in correctional food service is advantageous but not required.

Proficiency in using computers and relevant software is necessary.
