Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Process Technician will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of production processes, collaborating with various departments to enhance operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside engineers and fellow technicians to create and validate new tools and work instructions, as well as enhance existing processes.
- Conduct initial builds for new connectors, cables, and harnesses.
- Offer training and technical assistance to production staff.
- Provide technical support for both new and existing tools.
- Carry out rework and new builds for production test harnesses.
- Assist in the preparation of Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA, SCAR, RCCA).
- Engage in the review and response process for Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA).
- Collaborate with Sales and Engineering teams to assess customer requirements for Request for Quotation (RFQ) support.
- Propose and advocate for enhancements to processes, equipment, methods, safety, and production efficiency to ensure compliance with customer needs and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma; additional technical education or training is preferred.
- Over five years of experience in an electronics manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and the assembly of precision electro-mechanical products.
- Experience in assembling electrical connectors and custom cables and harnesses.
- Current or prior certification in IPC-620 and J-STD-001 standards.
- Strong verbal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications is desirable.
- Experience in various AS9145 APQP phases of product development is a plus.
- Ability to utilize data to assess the effectiveness of standard work and implement changes.
- Skilled in transforming methods and work instructions into user-friendly systems and formats.
- This position requires access to information or hardware subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR.
