Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Roadway Worker In Charge (RWIC) to join our team at National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS). As an RWIC, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our railroad services.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $80,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Responsibilities

As a Roadway Worker In Charge, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing jobsite coordination and ensuring seamless communication with dispatchers, train crews, and other personnel.
  • Conducting thorough job briefings and enforcing all relevant policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Identifying and resolving rule violations, as well as submitting daily field reports detailing contractor and/or railroad activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with 49 CFR 214 Federal Regulations for Class 1 Railroads, Regional Short Lines, Transit Systems, State DOT Rail Divisions, Railroad Suppliers, Railroad Contractors, and/or Railroad Consultants.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the railroad industry, preferably within the Maintenance Of Way (MOW) Department.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Railroad Engineering, Railroad Design, Railroad Construction, and Safety.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Proficient computer skills in basic email, phone, and text message applications, as well as Android OS and Citrix Applications.
