The TRA Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in delivering respiratory care to patients as per physician directives. This position demands a high level of expertise, particularly in managing complex cases, along with the ability to educate and mentor fellow staff members. Responsibilities include a comprehensive range of respiratory care services such as diagnostic assessments, treadmill tests, complete pulmonary function tests (PFTs), maintenance of arterial blood gas (ABG) machines, hemodynamic monitoring, specialized procedures, and electroencephalograms (ENGs).

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Associate's Degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program recognized by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree from a CoARC accredited program.

Minimum Experience: 2 years in an acute care environment.

Required Certifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • State License as a Respiratory Therapist
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
