About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our New Product Development (NPD) team at Watlow. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, designing cutting-edge products, and bringing ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate new product development projects from inception to completion.
  • Assist in transition and collaboration with supporting teams to move product into production readiness and full product launch.
  • Interface directly with external customers to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Focus on improving and identifying new products or processes that impact one or more work centers/cells.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing systems knowledge, including FMEA, Process Flow and mapping, and Production readiness/release for production requirements.
  • Utilize Solidworks for design of new products and have hands-on, mechanically inclined skills with understanding of equipment.
  • Define scope, objectives, vision, and activities of assigned projects based on user needs and lead project activities.
  • Coordinate activities of team members working on projects and participate in financial project reviews.
  • Determine scope, budget, and implementation timeframes of assigned projects and demonstrate in-depth technical expertise for assigned projects.
  • Develop problem-solving skillset and ability to bring team members together with a common goal.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in field of specialization or Bachelor's degree and related experience, or equivalent experience (5-8 years).
  • Supervisory training and experience.
  • Experience in one or more engineering disciplines such as Mechanical engineer, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineer.
Desired Qualifications
  • Technical experience with thermal systems, including electric heaters, temperature sensors, heat exchangers, and controls.
  • Expertise in applying the principles of Lean product development and leading projects to successful completion in a Lean Project Delivery or Agile environment.
  • Effective project management skills, including communication, time management, team collaboration, budget, and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, SolidWorks, and/or Project Management Software.
