Overview
As a Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in the culinary operations of our establishment. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with management to curate menu offerings that appeal to our clientele.
- Preparing and cooking dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards, utilizing various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, boiling, frying, and steaming.
- Overseeing kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Building and maintaining a strong culinary team.
- Training and mentoring new kitchen staff.
- Complying with all food safety and sanitation regulations consistently.
- Working collaboratively with all departments and personnel.
- Ensure the freshness of ingredients and final dishes.
- Prepare food promptly while adhering to quality standards.
- Supervise kitchen personnel, assign tasks, and provide guidance to foster teamwork and minimize conflicts.
- Maintain high standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and presentation, manage inventory, and place orders as necessary.
- Operate and monitor kitchen equipment, reporting any maintenance needs.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Create preparation lists for kitchen staff.
- Ensure compliance with health codes and regulations.
- Schedule staff and assist with human resources processes as required.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace.
- Stock and set up kitchen stations.
- Demonstrate proficiency in cooking various food items to the appropriate temperatures.
- Execute opening and closing procedures effectively.
- Utilize your culinary expertise and creativity to enhance our offerings.
- Culinary degree or 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in high-volume kitchens.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for teamwork.
- Previous experience in kitchen management with proven leadership abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen operations, equipment, food production, and service.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to plan menus and create innovative dishes.
- Awareness of current culinary trends.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Experience in training kitchen staff in operational techniques.
- Oversee the cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen equipment and workspaces.
- Ability to interpret recipes and delegate tasks effectively.
- Relevant certification, such as a food handler certificate.
