We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Assistant to join our team at Matrix Providers. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist dentists in one or more phases of complex/difficult restorative, prosthodontic, oral surgical, endodontic, or periodontal treatment.
- Receive and schedule patients for treatment, obtaining and recording related medical history.
- Chart examination and treatment information, and record prescriptions.
- Sterilize instruments, materials, and equipment, and prepare surgical trays.
- Maintain dental equipment in a clean and operative condition.
- Assist dentists at chairside, performing intra-oral procedures as directed.
- Take preliminary impressions for study models, remove sutures, and place rubber dams, period-packs, matrix bands, and wedges.
- Relay the dentist's instructions to patients for post-treatment care, and instruct patients in proper dental techniques, care of appliances, and causes of dental decay.
- Operate dental X-ray equipment to take intra and extra-oral radiographs, maintaining, cleaning, and performing minor repairs on X-ray equipment and materials.
- Pour and trim models from impressions, and construct custom impression trays.
- Maintain recurring reports related to dental activities.
- Certificate or Associate Degree as a dental assistant/technician from a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA), and 12 months of experience within the preceding 36 months.
- Certification from a military dental technician or dental assistant school, and 12 months of experience within the preceding 36 months.
- Certification from a Red Cross Dental Assistant course, and 12 months of experience within the preceding 36 months.
- Membership in good standing with the American Association of Dental Assistants, with required continuing education, and 12 months of experience within the preceding 36 months.
- Graduation from a state-accredited program for dental assistants or dental technology within the preceding 12 months.
- 1 full year within the last 3 years working full-time as a Dental Assistant within a private practice clinic or military clinic setting.
