Job Title: Assistant/Associate/Professor of Biomedical Sciences

Western University of Health Sciences is seeking a highly qualified individual to join our faculty as an Assistant/Associate/Professor of Biomedical Sciences. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our students and advance the field of biomedical sciences.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in biomedical sciences, teaching expertise, and a passion for education. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching medical biochemistry and genetics curriculum, conducting research, and contributing to the planning and development of courses and academic programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach medical biochemistry and genetics curriculum to students
  • Conduct research in the area of expertise and secure extramural funding
  • Develop and maintain an active research program
  • Participate in curricular activities, including workshops and case wrap-ups
  • Submit questions to the NBOME and attend faculty development workshops
  • Provide service to the university, including interviewing DO students and attending seminars
  • Publish peer-reviewed manuscripts and attend national/international meetings
Requirements:
  • PhD in life sciences or equivalent from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • 5 years post-doctoral experience teaching medical biochemistry at an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Preference will be given to those individuals possessing experience in teaching medical genetics
