We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Mother Baby team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As a Mother Baby Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to new mothers and their babies during the postpartum period.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments to identify the health status of mothers and babies, following established standards of care and disease-specific protocols.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
- Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN's scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
- Offer education and emotional support to new mothers, recognizing and responding to symptoms such as postpartum depression.
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- 1 year of acute care experience - preferred
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- BSN - preferred
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required per St. David's Healthcare policy
- Certification in area of specialty when eligible – preferred
- STABLE - preferred
