Job Summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to fill the role of RN Flow Manager in our Kraft Family Blood Donor Center. As a key member of our donor center leadership team, the RN Flow Manager will be responsible for coordinating and expediting donor center operations to ensure an exceptional donor experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and expedite donor center operations, including supervising and directing staff to advance toward department blood product collection goals.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships across roles, disciplines, and departments to ensure timely access to emerging needs of patients.
  • Provide clinical oversight and support to nursing staff and donor technicians, collaborating with the Medical Director, Nursing Director, and Practice Manager as needed.
  • Manage changes in staffing schedules and adjust resources to ensure operational needs are met.
  • Authorize hours worked by donor room staff, including overtime, and assume accountability for evaluating performance.
  • Participate in the selection, supervision, and development of staff, as well as coordinate orientation and address staff development needs.
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Director and Medical Director to set quality standards for blood product donation and participate in the development, validation, and revision of standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA, and AABB standards, and oversee the training of new staff and ensure complete documentation is done.
Requirements
  • Graduated from an approved school of nursing, BSN required; MSN preferred; NE-BC preferred.
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Massachusetts.
  • Continually update clinical knowledge and skills through formal and informal education and review of current literature.
  • Proven ability to work well independently, possess sound decision-making skills, and work effectively when required to make and facilitate complex decisions.
