Primary Role

The Capital Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in overseeing financial operations related to capital initiatives. This position collaborates with various departments to ensure compliance with established processes and adherence to audit standards.

Educational Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
  • A Master's degree in Business Administration is preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience is necessary.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Essential Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is essential.
  • Proficiency in advanced computer applications, including spreadsheet (Excel), database management, and word processing (Word) is required.
  • Experience with INFOR Project Activities and Asset Management is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels, including executive management, are necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in establishing approved budgets for projects and equipment within the project activities and asset management systems. Manage system data, including balances and project timelines.
  2. Maintain the structure of the project activities and asset management systems, ensuring accurate assignment of project numbers and control categories.
  3. Conduct monthly reviews of capital projects, analyzing expenditures to ensure budget compliance and collaborating with leadership to address discrepancies.
  4. Serve as a resource for project managers in Facilities and IT regarding project accounting and related activities.
  5. Propose and implement process enhancements to improve consistency in accounting and reporting.
  6. Timely capitalize projects and equipment, ensuring appropriate asset classifications and documentation.
  7. Support physical asset inventories and assist in maintaining the non-capital asset management system.
  8. Account for asset transfers and disposals, making necessary adjustments to equipment balances.
  9. Facilitate month-end closing processes for project activities and asset management systems, ensuring timely reporting and reconciliation.
  10. Contribute to special projects and serve on committees as assigned.
