About the Role

Leidos is seeking a talented Continuous Improvement Specialist to join a diverse team to create unique solutions to complex problems. With a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement, this role will work in a collaborative environment with teammates and the Government customer to ensure quality and a focus on continuous improvement across the program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a Lead for program Continuous Process Improvement activities, driving process excellence and efficiency.
  • Collaborate across program teams to facilitate structured process improvement activities, leveraging expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Assist program staff in the preparation and presentation of business cases for improvement to senior leadership, utilizing strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on improvement methodologies, providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Participate in quality reviews and audits in compliance with Leidos policies and direction, ensuring adherence to ISO9001/AS9100 standards.
  • Enter and maintain audit findings in the Common Audit Database (CAD) with timely updates/closures of audit findings, demonstrating attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Participate in Peer Reviews of documentation, providing constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Capture and analyze Lessons Learned, identifying areas for process improvement and implementing changes to drive business excellence.
  • Provide quality inputs in projects as a member of cross-functional teams, leveraging expertise in operations and planning processes.
Requirements
  • Candidate must have a High School diploma/GED with 5 or more years of relevant experience in quality control, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
  • Candidate must have experience working with non-conforming material, performing failure analysis, identifying root cause and implementing corrective action.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with ability to develop solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact multiple areas.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and oversight, employing ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions and systems.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Significant Experience in Lean Manufacturing businesses and appropriate tools, including Microsoft Visio and Excel.
  • Expert level Microsoft Visio current state / future state process mapping skills and waste analysis, especially understanding Non-value-Added time versus Value added time analysis.
  • Significant experience in Kaizen team facilitation and project management, with ability to prepare and present business cases to senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with operations and planning processes, as well as Six Sigma and other improvement methodologies.
  • Background in cross-functional team collaboration and briefing different audiences, with ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
