Position Overview

Soft Tech Consulting is in search of a dedicated and proactive individual to take on the role of a Software Application Engineer. The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic team environment, contributing their skills and knowledge to ensure the successful execution of project objectives. Effective communication across all levels of the organization is crucial for reporting on project progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops segments of intricate software applications to fulfill client specifications.
  • Creates relevant application documentation, including block diagrams and logic flow charts.
  • Transforms design specifications into programming instructions, prepares test data, and conducts testing.
  • Offers technical recommendations with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma with specialized technical training or knowledge.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS, JQuery, Bootstrap, 508 Accessibility, mobile-friendly design, and Adobe Photoshop (or equivalent).
  • Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) and Drupal is preferred.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate the feasibility of software technology alternatives.
  • Familiarity with various programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, C#, PowerBuilder, SAS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of application frameworks (e.g., .NET, Spring, Struts, Hibernate, etc.).
  • Experience with at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, PERL, Powershell, etc.).
  • Proficient in web scripting languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, etc.).
  • Experience in unit and functional testing, including the specification of test cases and documentation of results.
  • Familiarity with at least one relational database (e.g., Oracle, SQLServer, Sybase, MySQL Enterprise, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Experience with at least one application server (Weblogic, JBoss, Tomcat for Java, IIS for .NET, for JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with at least one development methodology.
  • Experience in gathering user requirements and supporting acceptance testing.
  • Experience in system testing, including planning, execution, development of test data, and documentation.
  • Experience with change and issue tracking tools (e.g., Redmine, VersionOne, JIRA).
  • Hands-on experience with at least 2 of the major products listed below, along with knowledge of 10% of the remaining products:
