Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team at Matrix. As a key member of our maintenance and construction team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of carpentry tasks, including interior finishing, repair, and construction of office furniture, storage cabinets, doors, partitions, windows, buildings, tanks, benches, shoring, and scaffolds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Safety and Core Values: Actively support the Company's commitment to safety and its Core Values, representing the Company at all times with high moral standards.
  • Receive and Interpret Instructions: Receive and understand instructions and prints regarding work assignments in the shop or field.
  • Plan and Execute Work: Plan the sequence of operations and job methods, making calculations essential in estimating material requirements and for laying out and developing curved, angular, plane, or irregular shapes.
  • Select and Operate Tools: Select materials and tools most suitable for the job, setting up and operating woodworking tools to cut, finish, and form material for the job.
  • Perform Carpentry Work: Perform a wide variety of carpentry work, including interior finishing, repair, and construction of office furniture, storage cabinets, doors, partitions, windows, buildings, tanks, benches, shoring, and scaffolds.
  • Build and Install: Build forms and install reinforcing rods and anchor bolts for concrete foundations, locate and install prefabricated wood and metal parts, and install or replace glass.
  • Erect and Repair: Dismantle, erect, and repair various types of roofing, erect various types of scaffolds, including pipe and safety barriers, and make provisions for handling materials needed for the job.
  • Maintain a Safe Working Environment: Keep the immediate working area clean, identify safety hazards, and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience.
  • Skills and Knowledge: A general knowledge of basic hand tools, ability to pass the Carpenter Skills Test at or above 70%, or complete the NCCER certification for your craft.
  • Training and Certification: Completed the Matrix Service Safety training and Client / Site specific training, and to obtain and maintain an active status within the DISA drug testing program.
Physical and Special Requirements
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work from elevated or uneven surfaces, work involves standing and walking for extended periods of time, ability to work in Confined Spaces.
  • Special Requirements: Work may include frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and stooping, occasional climbing onto equipment and/or trailers, pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying objects weighing a minimum of 35 pounds to a maximum of 100 pounds, with assistance.
