Fire Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Fire/EMS Instructor to join our team at Waukesha County Technical College. The successful candidate will provide classroom and lab instruction for Fire and/or EMS courses, utilizing strong organizational skills, effective communication, and practical hands-on instruction.

• Develop and deliver high-quality education programs for Fire and EMS students
• Engage students in the learning environment through active learning strategies
• Promote and coordinate professional development opportunities for fire/ems instructors
• Market Fire and EMS training programs and prepare competent fire/ems providers for local employers

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent with education or training preparing a person for the occupational area being taught
2. Twenty-four months of verifiable occupational experience as a fully qualified worker in the occupational area
3. EMS Instructors only: Current State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) EMS Instructor I certification at the EMT level, Paramedic preferred
4. EMS instructors only: Current State of Wisconsin EMT licensure (or equivalent)
5. FIRE instructors only: Current State of Wisconsin Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I Certification
6. Eligibility for WCTC Credentialing System
7. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and instruct quality education programs

• American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS Instructor
• Technology-based, simulation, and scenario-based instruction experience
