Job Summary

The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) plays a vital role in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting, providing comprehensive treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and assess responses to ordered therapy per plan of care, including routine and intensive therapy and diagnostic procedures.
  • Measure ventilator volumes, pressures, and blood gas analysis.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and general acceptance of treatment.
  • Perform a variety of duties related to setting up, operating, cleaning, sterilizing, and storing respiratory therapy equipment.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP) or Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) certification.
