Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Franklin County Medical Center. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing cardiopulmonary care to our patients, ranging from newborns to geriatrics.

• Administer oxygen and other non-anesthetic gases to patients using various methods, including intermittent positive pressure, CPAP, BiPAP, and mechanical ventilation.
• Conduct pulmonary function tests to assess lung function and diagnose respiratory disorders.
• Perform arterial punctures and conduct blood gas determinations to monitor patient oxygenation and ventilation.
• Instruct patients and others in proper use and maintenance of equipment to ensure safe and effective treatment.
• Set up electrocardiograms and holter monitors to monitor patient cardiac function.
• Schedule sleep studies and other tests to diagnose and manage sleep disorders.
• Keep accurate records of treatments and patient changes to ensure continuity of care.
• Follow doctor orders, department policies, and procedures, and tasks assigned by the Respiratory Therapy Manager to ensure seamless patient care.
• Ensure annual N95 fit testing for clinical staff to maintain a safe working environment.

• Licensed by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current Idaho Respiratory Therapy License.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• 1-2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Working knowledge of Respiratory Therapy, healthcare safety, state and federal regulations, and regulatory processes.
• Good communication skills, both written and oral, in English.
• Ability to manage, support, and work cooperatively with individuals and committees.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

Franklin County Medical Center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and may require you to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet patient needs. You may be exposed to blood, body tissue, and fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous waste. You may also be required to work in a confined environment or varying temperatures.
