Job Summary:

Brunel is seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Specialist to join our Capital PMO team in The Woodlands, TX. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the schedule and cost control efforts for projects in West Texas.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Analysis: Assist in maintaining the cost analysis application database and facilitate new initiatives related to cost control and analysis efforts.
  • Project Reporting: Create project and program cost reports, capturing the portfolio for supported project managers.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot cost issues and review monthly exceptions and errors in the integration process.
  • Budgeting: Create and manage budgets and monitor spending.
  • Project Scheduling: Define, create, and maintain project work breakdown and cost breakdown structures, working closely with the engineering team.
  • Cost Tracking: Track and report up-to-date construction project costs, EACs, and variances.
  • Forecasting: Track incurred and forecasted cost vs authorized funding and identify needed supplements, as necessary.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports to lead monthly accrual and reforecast meetings to update management teams and coordinate with accounting teams.
  • Scope Management: Create and maintain scope change log and ensure scope change process adherence.
  • Schedule Development: Utilize detailed project schedules to develop cost time-phased data forecasts.
  • Schedule Updates: Track construction progress and provide periodic schedule updates to stakeholders.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain highly effective and productive relationships with company teams, contractor representatives, and contacts ensuring that all interested parties are informed and involved in planning activities as appropriate.
  • Reporting: Create, maintain, and distribute routine bi-weekly and monthly reports associated with all assigned construction project expenses.
  • Ad-Hoc Reporting: Prepare detailed ad-hoc reports.
  • Contractor Selection: Participate in contractor selection process by providing feedback on contractor's previous performance.
  • Safety Management: Ensure safety measures are adhered to by all employees and contractors.


Requirements:

  • Experience: Relevant experience in project controls, preferably in oil and gas or construction capital projects.
  • Skills: Proficiency in cost analysis tools and database management, experience using Primavera P6, SAP, Ares Prism, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment, commitment to safety and adhering to company values.
