Barista

As a Barista at Kroger, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment. You will treat customers and employees with fairness and respect, promoting an inclusive work environment and being a responsible member of the community.

• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products and services.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and services to respond to customer inquiries and make suggestions.
• Collaborate with associates to achieve company goals and promote teamwork.
• Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards, and tender transactions using company best practices.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
• Recommend products to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Use all equipment in the coffee shop according to company guidelines, and prepare, package, label, and inventory ingredients in merchandise.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness, and review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
• Properly use kitchen equipment, espresso machine, blender, computerized scale, and steamer.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions and notifying store management.
• Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents, and report all safety risks, issues, or illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud to store management.
