Senior Systems Engineer

Occam Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD). The ideal candidate will have expertise in Windows, Linux, VMWare, Host Based Security System (HBSS), and Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, integrate, and deploy IT solutions to meet the needs of the NSWC PHD.
  • Provide operational engineering support for enterprise-level solutions using virtual server hosting, backup solutions, off-site data replication, and service level storage solutions.
  • Provision Virtual Machines and patches to the software and hardware hosting infrastructure.
  • Participate in on-call after-hours support rotation, responding to support calls after hours/weekends/holidays/shutdowns.
  • Update system and process documentation and user guides as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years of Windows and 5 years of Linux server technologies experience, including Active Directory, Group Policy Management, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) implementation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of VMWare Infrastructure experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of SAN/Blade Server infrastructure experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Security requirement implementations, including the ability to ensure Information Assurance (IA) Vulnerability Alert (IAVA)/M and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) compliance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with HBSS implementations, including the configuration and monitoring of HBSS Fragmentary Orders.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Department of Defense (DoD) and DoN Cybersecurity controls, including the use of STIGs, SRRs, and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) implementation.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with fibre channel fabric/zoning/logical unit number management.
  • HP 3PAR and cClass Blade architecture experience, or equivalent platform capabilities.
  • Experience with disaster recovery preparedness and administration using policy-based backup applications.
