Senior Auditor Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Auditor to join our Assurance team at PBMares. As a Senior Auditor, you will be responsible for directing engagements and special assignments, preparing and reviewing work papers, and supervising staff accountants on engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct fieldwork on audit engagements and provide on-the-job training to staff
- Prepare and review work papers, financial statements, and other documentation
- Supervise staff accountants and ensure assignments are completed within budgeted time
- Follow up on engagement progress and resolve accounting and auditing problems as needed
- Develop relationships with clients and non-clients to expand our practice
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; Master's degree preferred
- 2 years of public accounting experience, preferably working with state and local government clients
- CPA license preferred; 150 credit hours required to obtain CPA license
- Working knowledge of GASB, GAAP, Yellow Book, and other professional standards and regulations
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and solve practical problems
