Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a skilled Senior Mobility Instructor to join our team in Reno, NV.
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in orientation and mobility instruction, with a proven track record of empowering students with visual impairments to navigate their environments confidently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' mobility needs and develop tailored instruction plans.
- Provide individualized O&M training to students in various settings, including schools, homes, and community areas.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and other specialists to ensure cohesive support for students.
- Deliver training sessions for staff and parents on best practices for supporting students with visual impairments.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed.
- Stay current with industry developments and innovations in orientation and mobility.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Orientation and Mobility or a related field.
- Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) preferred.
- Experience working with students with visual impairments is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various locations as needed.
