The Production Shift Manager at Fresh Express plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our production facilities, particularly in the areas of Salad, Healthy Snacking, and Bowls. This position is crucial for maintaining workplace safety and adhering to food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be tasked with:

  • Meeting or exceeding all planned Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitoring and developing the competencies of supervisory staff to align with company goals.
  • Analyzing daily manufacturing reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Understanding and reporting on production budgets, profit and loss statements, labor costs, and variances.
  • Ensuring compliance with food processing, sanitation, and safety regulations.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives within the production process.
  • Overseeing the completion of the daily production schedule.
  • Facilitating the launch of new products and processes.
  • Ensuring adherence to OSHA, EPA, and FDA regulations within the manufacturing plant.
  • Establishing performance standards for the manufacturing team.
  • Engaging and empowering the workforce to foster a positive and productive culture.
  • Collaborating with peers to enhance service and cost efficiency.
  • Participating actively in the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) group to ensure order fulfillment.
  • Managing accident reporting and safety procedure compliance.
  • Conducting follow-ups on corrective actions and evaluating their effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field in Food Manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • The ability to translate complex tasks into actionable items.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • A solid understanding of manufacturing process flows.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing and management.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional desirable skills include:

  • Experience with formal process improvement methodologies.
  • Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish, English/Vietnamese, or English/French).
  • Familiarity with FSSC 22000 standards.
