Position Overview:
The Hematology Oncology Associates of CNY (HOACNY) is seeking a full-time Director of Research Operations to enhance our esteemed professional team.

HOACNY is recognized as one of Central New York's premier workplaces, dedicated to providing exceptional cancer care services across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities:
The Director of Research Operations will be instrumental in managing and overseeing the execution of clinical studies. This role involves:

  • Ensuring the ethical, legal, and safe recruitment of study participants.
  • Conducting research protocols and guaranteeing accurate data collection.
  • Facilitating the timely transfer of information to relevant study groups and sponsors.
  • Maintaining compliance with federally funded research requirements.
  • Encouraging the pursuit of pharmaceutical trials to complement federally funded studies.

Leadership Duties:
The Director will supervise research personnel and coordinate departmental activities, including:

  • Approval of paid time off for research staff.
  • Monitoring and updating departmental policies.
  • Engaging in leadership meetings and collaborating with other team leaders.

Research Compliance:
Ensuring that all research activities adhere to ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, IRB policies, and all applicable state and federal regulations is paramount. The Director will also:

  • Provide professional care for patients involved in clinical trials, following established standards.
  • Screen and assess patients for eligibility in clinical trials.
  • Manage the consenting process and maintain communication with physician investigators, patients, and their families.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Master's degree in a medical or health-related field.
  • Experience in clinical research and familiarity with GCP and medical documentation standards.
  • Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of study coordinators and research staff.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining regulatory documents.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, along with advanced computer proficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
