Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients in wheelchairs or on stretchers to and from various units, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Promptly respond to pages and notifications, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of patients.
  • Use proper body mechanics during transfers and transports, prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
  • Notify staff upon arrival of patients, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Report any changes in patient condition during transport to the charge nurse, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Ensure proper height is maintained on IV set-ups during transportation, adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Promote and maintain cleanliness and effective functioning of transport equipment, adhering to infection control and safety standards.
  • Report defective wheelchairs and stretchers to the supervisor, ensuring timely replacement and maintenance.
  • Clean transportation equipment regularly, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Pick up and deliver materials as directed within the hospital, ensuring prompt and accurate delivery.
  • Perform related duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a medical setting, preferred.
  • Good communication skills, fluent in English.
  • Physical demands include constant walking, standing, stooping, bending, turning, lifting; frequent stretching, pulling, pushing; occasional sitting.
