About the Role:
Riverside Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist at Riverside Healthcare, you will play a vital role in helping patients of all ages to live life to its fullest by promoting health and preventing or living better with illness, injury, or disability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional evaluation and treatment to patients, developing and implementing occupational therapy treatment programs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, referral sources, families, and other staff members, including documentation of essential conversations with providers.
- Supervise and assist Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, ensuring they provide occupational therapist-directed and supervised components of interventions.
- Participate in designated marketing programs, conferring with physicians and other healthcare providers to discuss patient conditions and needs.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation, maintaining compliance with all standards and containing personalized patient education and plan of care.
- Meet productivity requirements, participating in patient care conferences and making recommendations for supplies and equipment.
- Participate in Quality Improvement efforts, such as Journal Club, inservices, and Magnet.
- Provide individual and group teaching to patients' families or other persons for carry-over, supervising OT and/or OTA student affiliates.
- Work independently under general supervision, taking ownership of workload and supporting autonomous occupational therapy practice.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current active or temporary Illinois licensure to practice Occupational Therapy or ATT letter (authorization to test) issued by Continental Testing or the State of Illinois in the instance of a recent graduate.
