Role Objectives:

In collaboration with management, provide direction and support to hourly staff in specific areas during scheduled shifts. A shift leader is expected to execute all responsibilities associated with crew positions, including customer interaction, product preparation, cash handling, and food preparation in various service areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing specific sections of the restaurant during scheduled shifts.
  • Ensure proper organization and staffing of the restaurant as outlined in the written schedule through effective job assignments and task delegation during both peak and off-peak times.
  • Conduct orientation, training, and performance evaluations for crew members across all functional areas. Support hourly employees at the point of sale in executing product promotions.
  • Guarantee that customer service in all areas meets the required standards for quality, value, and cleanliness.
  • Address minor customer complaints promptly, taking appropriate actions to resolve issues and determining when to escalate more serious complaints to management.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the restaurant's business plan through specific job assignments and projects as directed by management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all cash accountability reports during assigned shifts. Capable of performing duties of all non-management roles.
  • Notify immediate supervisors promptly of any significant problems or unusual matters.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management team.

Accountability:

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Three or more months of experience in a restaurant setting as an hourly employee.
  • Must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to supervise specific areas of the restaurant in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of performing under pressure in a high-volume setting, including the ability to move and respond quickly for extended periods.
  • Constant interaction with the public and co-workers during shifts.
  • Able to work in varying temperature conditions.
  • Must be able to stand for long durations.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Exhibit good manners, maintain proper personal hygiene, demonstrate a positive attitude, and ensure punctuality.
