Job Summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Technician/Pharm Tech Apprenticeship to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, including retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions. You will also be responsible for registering all related sales on assigned cash registers, collecting and handling cash as required, and taking customers to OTC aisles to assist in locating products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, including retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions.
  • Register all related sales on assigned cash registers, collect and handle cash as required, and take customers to OTC aisles to assist in locating products.
  • Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly, and filling prescriptions.
  • Report, immediately, prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
  • Strictly adhere to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
Requirements
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB certification.
