Key Responsibilities:- AOI Equipment Management:
- Configure and prepare AOI systems for production cycles.
- Operate AOI machinery to assess electronic and mechanical components throughout the manufacturing process.
- Continuously monitor inspection results and implement adjustments to guarantee accurate defect identification.
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct thorough inspections to detect defects, irregularities, and inconsistencies in components and assemblies.
- Work alongside quality assurance teams to establish and uphold inspection criteria.
- Assist in evaluating inspection data and providing insights to enhance product quality.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Perform regular maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of AOI systems.
- Identify and resolve technical challenges to minimize equipment downtime and maintain inspection integrity.
- Training and Development:
- Deliver training and mentorship to junior AOI technicians on equipment handling, inspection methodologies, and quality protocols.
- Provide technical assistance and guidance during production operations.
- Documentation:
- Keep detailed records of inspection outcomes, equipment servicing, and procedural modifications.
- Create reports summarizing inspection results and any deviations from set standards.
- Process Enhancement:
- Engage in initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency and accuracy of AOI inspections.
- Propose and implement enhancements to inspection processes and protocols.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow safety guidelines and ensure AOI equipment adheres to all safety regulations.
- Foster a safety-conscious culture within the team.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a technical diploma or degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Several years of experience as an AOI technician, showcasing proficiency in AOI machinery operation.
- Strong technical understanding of automated optical inspection systems and associated software.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to maintain high accuracy levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with diverse teams.
- Knowledge of electronics and manufacturing processes is beneficial.
- Flexibility to work varied hours and adapt to evolving production requirements.
- Leadership and mentoring abilities for guiding junior staff.
The Automated Optical Inspection Specialist is integral to maintaining the quality benchmarks of the manufacturing process by ensuring precise and effective inspections of components and assemblies. This role also involves contributing to process enhancements and providing guidance and support to junior team members, ultimately ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.
