Key Responsibilities:- Provide exceptional veterinary nursing care to stable patients, adhering to our hospital's standards of care and core values.
- Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds, ensuring seamless communication with the veterinary team.
- Calculate basic medical math with precision and accuracy.
- Understand and apply knowledge of commonly used medications, their side effects, and therapeutic responses.
- Administer medications via appropriate routes and durations, prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
- Perform phlebotomy with care and attention to detail.
- Triage and obtain patient history, utilizing your exceptional communication skills.
- Assist clinicians with diagnostic procedures, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Patient care, including treatments, is a top priority, and you will be responsible for preparing prescriptions and communicating discharge orders to clients.
- Proficient in diagnostic testing and laboratory procedures.
- Strong understanding of veterinary pharmacology and internal medicine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work closely with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff to provide cohesive and comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine.
- Ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes and weights.
- Comfortable standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity to handle medical instruments and equipment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital, with a focus on internal medicine.
- Veterinary Certification preferred.
