Job Title: Senior Laboratory Technologist

At Interpace Diagnostics Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Laboratory Technologist to join our team.

Job Summary

The Senior Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for conducting clinical laboratory testing, maintaining lab documentation, and supporting the work of the Director of Laboratory Operations and Chief Scientific Officer. This role will also involve mentoring and providing technical guidance to laboratory technologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical laboratory testing and maintain lab documentation to ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Support the work of the Director of Laboratory Operations and Chief Scientific Officer.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to laboratory technologists.
  • Work with lab management to ensure that clinical fluid chemistry processes meet scientific standards.
  • Perform lab work, including PCR and genetic analysis, and other techniques as required.
  • Document lab processes and procedures and adhere to established laboratory protocols.
  • Provide technical laboratory support for all clinical and research efforts.
  • Properly use and maintain lab equipment, lab reagents, and supplies, and calibrate equipment as necessary.
  • Provide necessary support for smooth operation and delivery of Company services.
  • Train Laboratory Technologists.
  • Provide leadership in areas of quality assurance and quality control.
  • Serve as liaison between pathologists and laboratory technical staff.
  • Work with production pathologist, QA Director, and technical staff to identify and make changes in process to improve quality of analyses.
  • Review NY State Standards and CAP checklists and assist in preparation for inspections.
  • Manage staff training, update training folders.
  • Observe competencies of laboratory staff.
  • Handle special projects and other tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in the maintenance of the Quality Management System and quality control program.
  • Perform duties in compliance with laboratory safety and infection control practices.
  • Maintain competency through performance evaluation and proficiency testing.
  • Participate in identifying and making changes in process to improve quality of analyses.
Requirements
  • BS degree in Medical Technology or a lab-based scientific discipline.
  • 4-5 years of experience in a clinical or research laboratory environment, with commercial laboratory experience preferred.
  • ASCP certification preferred.
