Job Overview

Context

The PM&OE Team is tasked with delivering intricate, business-critical initiatives that span various locations and functions as part of the organization’s ongoing strategic plan. These initiatives may encompass new site development, site consolidation, technical capability transfers, integration of new business operations, systems integration, and process enhancement.

  1. Key Responsibilities

The role involves the formulation, planning, and execution of significant change initiatives across a global landscape, primarily focusing on the US and EMEA regions. A considerable aspect of this position will involve leading and supporting new laboratory construction and setup initiatives. Additionally, collaboration with other Program and Project Managers will be essential in developing best practices for project and program execution.

  • Collaborate with PM&OE Team members to enhance internal processes and execute strategic objectives (e.g., refining frameworks, training, reporting).
  • Understand key organizational drivers behind strategic initiatives and partner with stakeholders to develop suitable programs that align with these goals.
  • Adapt plans as necessary to align with evolving organizational needs.
  • Act as Project Manager for significant projects requiring advanced expertise within the program.
  • Create program plans, budgets, and risk registers while identifying interdependencies (both internal and external).
  • Communicate and resolve conflicting organizational priorities, ensuring timely resolutions or appropriate escalations.
  • Identify and secure necessary resources for each program in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Ensure program buy-in across all affected functions.
  • Establish and refine governance processes to maintain relevance and engage key stakeholders actively.
  • Communicate strategies and objectives effectively with relevant departments and colleagues, bridging functional gaps.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach Project and Senior Project Managers, focusing on staff development, skill retention, and knowledge management.

Qualifications

  1. Knowledge, Experience, and Skills
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high levels of ambiguity.
  • Formal qualifications in project or program management (practitioner level) with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Experience in construction and engineering projects, particularly those involving new site builds and capability transfers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management Systems and experience ensuring compliance with ISO and regulatory standards.
  • Able to work independently on multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Skilled in simplifying complex technical issues and tailoring messages for relevant stakeholder groups.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across organizational boundaries.
  • Proficient in influencing individuals without direct authority.
  • Able to positively challenge existing thinking and manage change effectively.
  • Utilize sophisticated analytical processes and independent judgment to identify innovative solutions to complex problems impacting multiple disciplines/functions.
  • Experience working with global cross-functional project teams.
  • Solid understanding of general business processes and organizational frameworks, including goals, strategy, culture, and structure.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills in English.
  • Matrix management experience with Project and Senior Project Managers.
  • Proficient in IT systems, database technologies, and productivity tools.
