Structural Steel Project Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

An AISC Fabricator is in search of a dedicated structural steel Project Manager to enhance their expanding workforce. The successful candidate will possess a solid background in the steel sector and demonstrate familiarity with Commercial Construction initiatives adhering to AISC guidelines. Connections with prominent General Contractors in the Midwest region will be highly advantageous.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience focused on structural steel fabrication.
  • Experience managing commercial projects, including educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and sports venues.
  • Proficient in software tools such as Tekla PowerFab/Structures, Bluebeam, SDS/2, and Trimble Connect.
  • Understanding of AISC certification requirements.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee structural steel projects from initiation to completion.
  • Establish and manage project timelines, collaborating closely with purchasing, shop supervisors, detailers, vendors, subcontractors, shipping, and erectors to ensure deadlines are met while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Review all architectural and structural drawings to confirm project scope. Validate all details prior to submission to the shop. Assess erection plans before they are released to the field.
  • Generate and manage all RFIs and Change Orders, working with estimating teams to ensure timely pricing and submission of Change Orders.
  • Participate in project meetings and conduct site visits as necessary.
  • Keep senior management informed about project status, including any challenges, on an ongoing basis.

Compensation: $70,000 - $100,000 DOE
