Job Summary

The Cardiac Sonographer 2 performs advanced cardiac ultrasound services and procedures for adult patients, utilizing a variety of equipment and techniques to obtain accurate, high-quality results. This role requires knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, as well as the ability to explain the purpose of the echocardiographic examination to patients and answer their questions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for procedures and obtain clinical history to adapt imaging techniques.
  • Perform basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures, making necessary measurements and identifying cardiac abnormalities.
  • Assist physicians in procedure rooms and operating rooms by performing echocardiograph studies.
  • Record statistics and perform daily maintenance of the Echocardiography Lab and its equipment.
  • Act as a resource to other staff, physicians, and students regarding equipment, techniques, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Grad of an Accredited Program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
  • Less than 1 Year of Experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS in 30 days of hire or transfer.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Reg Diag Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Vascular Sonographe (RVS), Registered Vascular Tech (RVT): Must have one of the following at time of hire/transfer.
