Job Summary

The Fourth Street Day Care Center is seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks to our children, while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement menus that meet nutritional guidelines and food restrictions.
  • Prepare and cook meals, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to state licensing requirements.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including food, paper products, and cleaning supplies.
  • Assist with food and supply orders, ensuring timely delivery and storage.
  • Collaborate with center staff to ensure seamless meal service and kitchen operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with professional development training and certifications, enhancing your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Hold a valid First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Obtain Food Preparation and Nutrition Training certification within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Pass a comprehensive background check and maintain a satisfactory criminal record.
  • Complete 18 hours of professional development training annually.
  • Be able to lift 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in food service, preferably in a school or daycare setting.
