Job Overview

Position Summary: The Fabrication Operations Supervisor at Piezo Technologies plays a crucial role in overseeing a dedicated team of employees. The supervisor is responsible for providing regular updates to management regarding team performance, motivating team members, and assessing their training needs. Concerns are communicated to the Plant Manager, and feedback is provided to teams on safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations within the Fabrication department, setting priorities and ensuring high-quality workmanship.
  • Develop and organize production schedules based on demand from planning or management.
  • Identify and troubleshoot production flow issues, ensuring adequate labor, materials, equipment, and training are available.
  • Utilize problem-solving techniques to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve production challenges promptly.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of production processes and protocols.
  • Continuously enhance assigned processes in alignment with the Quality manual.
  • Conduct inspections of work performed by self and others to ensure compliance with company and customer specifications.
  • Ensure the production team consistently meets and exceeds daily production goals.
  • Mentor and develop direct reports, identifying training requirements and coordinating relevant training sessions.
  • Prepare performance documentation, including evaluations and disciplinary actions, in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Uphold a high standard of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Participate in the hiring process for open positions and coordinate with Human Resources for effective onboarding and training of new employees.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment, with CNC/Machining experience preferred.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with ERP manufacturing software.
  • Must be a U.S. person or protected individual as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Skills:

  • Proficient in planning, scheduling, and monitoring production cycles.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively lead production activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Analytical skills to assess methods and procedures.
  • Skilled in problem-solving, utilizing judgment based on experience to address challenges.
  • Competent in reading and interpreting company documents, including safety rules and operational procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and web applications.
  • Excellent team-building capabilities.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two-year technical degree with 5 years of experience in electronics or manufacturing, or equivalent experience.
Environmental & Physical Requirements:

Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements: The incumbent must be capable of performing essential job functions, which may take place in an office or warehouse setting. The role typically requires standing for extended periods, walking, bending, stooping, or climbing. There may be exposure to dust, and the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds may be necessary. Weekend work and variable schedules may be required as needed.
