Job Title: Travel Nurse RN Oncology Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Travel Nurse RN Oncology Specialist to join our team at Prokatchers.

Job Summary:

As a Travel Nurse RN Oncology Specialist, you will provide high-quality patient care in a hospital setting, working with a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.

Responsibilities:
  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and provide individualized care to meet their unique needs.
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting all changes in physician orders.
  • Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observing the physiological manifestations of patients and intervening when necessary.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
  • Deliver patient care competently and interact with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge.
  • Inform patient and family of hospital procedures and make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year experience in Oncology-BMTU Unit.
  • ONCC certification required.
  • Extensive experience with cancer patients and Stepdown required.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • ACLS (American Heart Association) within 1 year of hire.
  • Obtain Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) within one year of hire.
  • Within three years of hire, obtain ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) to replace Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification.
