Job Summary

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a key member of our oncology department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to our mission of delivering world-class cancer treatment.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage the physical and psychosocial needs of patients with cancer and hematological disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies as needed, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Conduct daily rounds, participate in multidisciplinary conferences, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and promoting empowerment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, treatments, and technologies in oncology, applying this knowledge to improve patient care.
  • Collaborate with our research team to participate in clinical trials and contribute to the advancement of cancer treatment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in nursing or post-masters nurse practitioner certificate program.
  • Current license/registration to practice in the state of Florida, prescriptive privileges or eligible to apply.
  • Certification from American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the Oncology Nurses Certification Corporation (ONCC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Leadership skills, analytical skills, and fiscal skills necessary to direct others, evaluate patients' status, and monitor quality of patient care.
