Responsibilities
As an Emergency Room Nurse at Arizona General Hospital, you will serve as the initial point of contact for individuals in our community facing health crises.
No two days in emergency nursing are alike, requiring you to be adaptable and quick-thinking as you prioritize patients based on their medical needs while providing emergency triage.
As part of our dedicated ER team, you will collaborate with experienced clinical professionals to deliver critical care, including performing IV insertions, foley catheter placements, and assisting with chest tube insertions.
To excel in this position, you should demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, and critical thinking skills, along with a readiness to engage in additional initiatives that enhance patient experiences.
Above all, you should be enthusiastic and driven to provide high-quality care to all patients, respecting their dignity throughout the process.
Key Duties:
- Utilize emergency triage protocols for patient intake, discharge, or admission.
- Deliver essential care to emergency patients of varying ages, adjusting treatment based on changes in their condition.
- Apply cultural awareness to provide patient care that aligns with individual values and beliefs.
- Document nursing care plans and any alterations in patient conditions.
- Participate in activities aimed at improving patient outcomes, such as mentoring and patient experience initiatives.
Dignity Health offers an Education Benefit program for eligible employees after a designated period, providing financial assistance for education-related expenses. Full-time employees may receive up to $18,000 over five years, while part-time employees can access up to $9,000.

- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an emergency room setting.
- ADN diploma from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Current Arizona RN license or a compact state RN license at the time of hire.
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS (within 30 days).
- Demonstrated kindness and compassion for every individual entering the hospital.
$58.90 per hour
