Job SummaryAs a Medical Surgical Travel Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical surgical environment. You will conduct patient assessments, prioritize data collection, and implement appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician. Your attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team will be essential in delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
- Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
- Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
- Prepare equipment and aid the physician during examination and treatment of patients.
- Educate patients on surgical procedures.
- Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by the physician.
- BLS certification
- 1 year of recent acute care experience
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
- Ability to lift 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Please note that additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
