Role Overview:


The Food and Beverage Operations Supervisor is tasked with managing the service of food and drinks to patrons across various concession stands, bars, and mobile food & beverage outlets within the venue.

This role requires a personable individual capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced atmosphere.

The Supervisor will collaborate with the Concessions Manager and the broader OVG leadership team on initiatives such as training, inventory management, and special events.

Consistent attendance and availability to work events as required by business needs are essential.

This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $23 to $30, in addition to tips.

Benefits for part-time roles include a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions.

Additionally, OVG grants part-time, seasonal, and internship employees one hour of accrued paid leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours annually.



Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the proper setup of all food and beverage locations prior to event commencement.

Setup Duties Include:

verifying initial inventory, delegating tasks to concession staff (employees/volunteers), ensuring compliance with sanitation standards, confirming operational readiness of each location, and assessing food production levels based on anticipated guest attendance; ensuring that the Stand Leader adheres to correct cash handling procedures.

Deliver a high level of oversight and operational proficiency to ensure the smooth, efficient, and profitable execution of events.

Conduct training for new and existing staff regarding venue procedures and best practices.


Be prepared to cover any open positions to guarantee operational readiness and adherence to company standards for service speed and guest satisfaction; assist with Premium Services operations and event requirements as directed.


Maintain a safe and respectful work environment, promptly addressing any safety concerns, potential hazards, accidents, or incidents. Report safety and health issues to management without delay.

Ensure that event staff and volunteers understand workplace expectations; provide ongoing support, training, and mentorship to staff and volunteers; foster a positive, enthusiastic, and collaborative workplace by working alongside staff and volunteers; reinforce procedures and practices through repetition; lead by example and offer continuous constructive feedback.


Acquire a comprehensive understanding of all existing concession locations: their geographical layout, equipment, emergency procedures, adjacent employee and guest areas, and facility access.

Supervise the service of beverages, including alcoholic drinks, to guests. Verify guests' identification to confirm they meet the minimum age requirement for alcohol purchases.

Assist in recording guest orders and communicating them to the kitchen via the Point of Sale system.

Monitor guests to respond to additional requests and determine when meals are complete.

Calculate the cost of meals and present checks to guests. Process payments and provide change as necessary.

Recommend menu items and explain preparation methods for various dishes.

Uphold sanitation, health, and safety standards in all work areas.

Demonstrate a strong commitment to excellent attendance as per company standards.

Ensure that all equipment at the location is functional and clean before the event begins.

Recognize guests who appear intoxicated and take appropriate action to discontinue alcohol service to those individuals.

Enforce all company policies and procedures.


Exhibit strong Human Resources skills in employee relations, corrective actions, coaching, and counseling, and complete all necessary HR documentation.

Assist the management team with projects related to training, inventory, and special events.

Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role within a food and beverage setting.

Ability to oversee the work of others.


Effective communication skills with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management, and guests in a clear, professional, and respectful manner, fostering a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.

Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English.

Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.

Possession of a valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit as required by state or federal regulations.

Capability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.

Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) related to cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation, and inventory management.
