Job Overview

The Lab Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting students as they engage in skills lab activities. While not expected to serve as an instructor, the Lab Assistant is responsible for overseeing and evaluating students during their lab work. This position acts as a bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical application, guiding students in managing their lab tasks, achieving course objectives, and identifying areas for improvement to communicate to the faculty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site supervision and evaluation of students in the laboratory environment.
  • Monitor and manage student progress on assignments.
  • Validate the completion of student case assignments.
  • Communicate student performance and compliance back to the faculty.
  • Assess student adherence to lab protocols.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of and adherence to the policies and procedures of Southeastern College and the program.
  • Stay updated on advancements in the field through current literature, discussions with colleagues, and participation in professional events.
Supervisory Duties
  • Provide clear written and verbal instructions; assign tasks and review work for accuracy, neatness, and compliance with established policies.

Education and Experience
