Environmental Botanist

LSA Associates INC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced botanist to join our team as a botanical survey specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in botanical field surveys and biological resource assessments, with a focus on vernal pool areas in the Central Valley and Northern California.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct botanical field surveys and biological resource assessments for projects in the Bay Area and Northern California.
• Identify and document plant species, including those that are state and federally protected.
• Develop and implement effective survey strategies to meet project requirements.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of survey results.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in natural or physical sciences.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with botanical field surveys and biological resource assessments.
• Valid 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training certification and/or proficiency working with geographic information systems (GIS).
• Strong work ethic, good writing and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the desire to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
