The ASPCA is seeking a skilled Veterinarian to join our Community Medicine team on a per diem basis. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality, compassionate care to animals in need, working closely with our experienced veterinarians, technicians, and assistants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert veterinary care to animals, including physical examinations, diagnostics, treatment recommendations, and discharge information.
  • Perform pre-surgery physical examinations on all surgical candidates.
  • Conduct high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgical procedures.
  • Diagnose and treat post-surgical medical complications.
  • Provide a safe and compassionate environment for animals, staff, and clients by using low-stress handling techniques.
  • Triage and refer cases that do not fall within our parameters of care.
  • Perform humane euthanasia in accordance with ASPCA policy and protocols.
Client Service
  • Communicate effectively with clients in a non-judgmental and professional manner.
  • Counsel clients on end-of-life and other sensitive medical concerns.
  • Provide discharge instructions and oversee medication dispensing.
Requirements
  • Veterinarian License - Other
  • Language: English (Required), Spanish
  • Education and Work Experience: Doctorate: Veterinary Medicine (Required)
